New Journey

Today is the day.
I started Weight Watchers!

Today marks the day of something new. Technically I began my new journey the day I said my vows to my husband (10-10-2015). But today is the day where I added on to that new journey to be a better me and ultimately will help be the best wife that I can be. Having been married before, being a good wife is definitely on my mind. The only way that I can be the best wife to my husband is if I am my best me. I will always be working to be a better me. It all starts with my health though.

I spent a good majority of today setting goals and deciding just what I want out of weight watchers and my health goals. I am also a member on www.sparkpeople.com and I spent a lot of time on there today revamping my profile and editing things. You can check out my profile here http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage.asp?id=FIT2BCARRIE-D

Here are a couple of goals that I set up for myself

-Do 10 Push ups

-Walk 1 mile everyday for 30 days.

-Lose 5% of body weight.

For right now I am keeping my goals simple. As I complete my goals I will keep pushing myself to do better and harder goals. The 5% of body weight will also be the same. Once I reach 5% lost I will continue to have the goal to lose 5% of the new weight.
I also set a reward system of for my goals. For every goal complete I will give myself $5 to put into my piggy bank, (Yes I still have a piggy bank{PB} and I love using it!!) I have also set up a reward for every LB lost I will put $1 in my PB. However, If I lose a LB and then gain it back and then lose it again, I only get that $1 once. Not both times for losing that LB. It's all to help motivate me and keep me moving in the right direction.

Honeymoon is Over

Wow... The Wedding is done! Well... not only the wedding but also the honeymoon. We just got back from our honeymoon last night. I have to say that I am quite happy that the wedding has come and gone. That is a lot less off my plate and a lot less stress. Feels weird though not having something to plan anymore.
The honeymoon was great! We went to San Diego and we had an awesome time there. We did a lot of stuff. I think we had equal amounts of being tourists and relaxing. Everything that a vacation or honeymoon should be. In my opinion anyways. Luckily I didn't gain any weight while being out there. Must have been because of how active we were on the days that we were out and about... One day I actually climbed 143 floors.. and no that was not climbing up and down stairs. That would've been too easy. Instead, we climbed a mountain!! It was definitely exhausting but it was worth it. It felt so great to get to the top of that thing and then to see the amazing views. I am talking about Potato Chip Rock. My new hubby and I climbed Potato Chip Rock. Funny name I know but the rock really doesn't look like a potato chip and it is all the way at the top of the mountain and of course it has to be sticking out over the edge so when you climb up that rock to of course get your picture taken, you are over the edge looking down what would surely be your death if you fell. Butttt, it was definitely worth it. I have to say that if you ever go out to San Diego, you MUST climb up to Potato Chip Rock. You can thank me later!

Of course while being there we had to do the normal stuff like go to the beach and the zoo. The San Diego Zoo is every bit as good as you have heard. Definitely a must go to. What is even better though is the San Diego Zoo Safari. You absolutely have to go to that. Seeing all the wild animals and being able to go on a "safari" is amazing. Most of the animals are all together in a field. I mean, the cheetahs and the lions and all those carnivores are kept separate of course but it is still nice to see. I definitely recommend that. Going over the Coronado bridge and seeing the stuff in Coronado was nice too. We were only there for a week and we did a lot but there was still so much to do. You definitely can't do it all in a week.
All in all I really enjoyed our trip out there. It was a little hotter than normal for this time of year. We definitely weren't use to those temperatures in October. It was mainly in the low to mid 80's while we were there. One day it got up to 93. And being from Michigan, it was definitely warm.

Back to the weight loss. I had set a goal to lose 15 lbs before the wedding but that didn't happen. I was working out and eating right but the weight just didn't want to come off. I think that it was mostly because of stress. However in the week before the wedding I did lose just under 5 lbs. Oh well though. Moving on. Now that the honeymoon is over I am going back to focusing on myself and my weight loss journey. I have been debating on joining Weight Watchers again or not. When I was doing it before I was actually doing pretty good and was being consistent. So I am thinking that is what I am going to do. Still have 2 months left in the year, that is still time to lose weight and get going on the right track before the new year begins.
8 weeks at -.5 lbs/week= -4 lbs
8 weeks at -1 lbs/week= -8 lbs
8 weeks at -1.5 lbs/week= -12 lbs
8 weeks at -2 lbs/week= -16lbs

Piyo Prep

Well, today marks 2 months until the wedding. Technically though my countdown tells me that I have 8 weeks and 4 days. It is getting so close!! I can not wait. So much to figure out and still so much to do. Definitely doesn't feel like we have been engaged for almost a year and a half. Because of this I have been looking for a way to help me lose the last 15 lbs that I would like to lose and hopefully some inches to go along with it!!
I recently came across someone selling their Piyo and I became very interested. I was interested when it first came out and wanted to get it but couldn't afford it at the time. So when I saw that someone was selling it for an affordable price I decided that I was going to get it. Of course once I decided to buy it I needed to do my research, like always. I had no idea that it was an 8 week program. When I saw that I got excited! Pretty much 8 weeks till my wedding and I found an 8 week program to go with it. Has to be a sign!
I have been doing quite a bit of research on it and I think that I may enjoy it. Of course I won't know until I decide to start it.
One thing that I decided that I will do is keep myself accountable by blogging on here everyday. Something I also came across was to make a journal/binder to go along with it to help keep organized and on track. I am all for that!! I love to keep journals and binders. I like when things are neat and organized.
I am still going to do some more research and help get myself completely prepped so I am ready for this! I am picking up the DVD's tomorrow. I would like to be able to start it by Thursday the 13th. I would like to end the 8 weeks right before the wedding if I can. It would be so amazing to do my final results on my wedding day and see how amazing I did and to see how much my hard work paid off!!
